Design Civil Engineer needed for an opportunity with SOC's client to work in Indian Head, Maryland.US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance is required!Responsibilities
- Primarily requires development of requirements and technical review of design packages as well as occasional design work
- Prepare design packages (including civil engineering calculations, design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates) for renovation projects such as roof replacements, building reconfigurations, additions, or adjustments due to a change in facility use or utilities such as HVAC upgrades or electrical modifications
- Conduct technical reviews of design packages created by others to assess compliance with applicable building codes, and regulations as well as end-user requirements
- Provide technical input to proposal development for renovation projects
- Support design process from concept through delivery of completed design package
- Prepare technical memoranda/reports that summarize information, such as requirements or the basis of design
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with other stakeholders internal to, and external to, the design team (e.g., engineering department, manufacturing department)
- Serve as a project manager and/or design manager on some assigned projects
- Prepare fact sheets, structural analysis, investigative and observation reporting for facilities and facility components where areas of concern or identified
- Support modernization of facilities in compliance with local, state, and federal codes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 8 years experience required, 10+ years is preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred, but not required
- Proficient at completing facility design services and supporting the review of designs for compliance with code and energetic manufacturing processes to help our client realize state-of-the-art facilities through construction and commissioning
- Experience reviewing facility designs for compliance with processes and permitting those designs through construction
- Experience evaluating operational systems and facility infrastructure to ascertain and improve operational efficiencies
- Experience designing and maintaining the physical infrastructure of a lab environment
- Knowledge of civil and environmental compliance within an energetic manufacturing environment, including completing facility design services
- Knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC), Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), NFPA, ANSI, ASCE, and civil and environmental systems industry standards
- Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance; Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
In compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $110,000 to $150,000 annually.
