Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a highly technical Design Portfolio Manager to lead the Basis of Design (BOD) and Programmatic Design Change Management (PDCM) programs within the GDSCM team.

You will evaluate design changes across electrical, mechanical, civil, architectural, and other systems for 300+ in-flight projects. As a Design Portfolio Manager you will work with Design Engineering, Construction Management, Procurement, Finance, and Product teams to ensure proper vetting, funding,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering or project management in Mission Critical facilities including data centers/power generation.
• Experience in design engineering or construction including fire protection systems and life safety.
• Experience managing focused engineering teams in data center design, engineering, and O&M.

Responsibilities

• Hire, develop, and retain a high-performing Design Change team; build bench strength.
• Own strategy, roadmap, and outcomes for BOD and PDCM programs globally.
• Provide senior technical oversight across disciplines with feasibility analyses.
• Represent design change in senior leadership reviews with status, decisions, risks, and recommendations.
• Own program metrics, timelines, cost avoidance, status, and quality.
• Govern design-change data and dashboards for cross-functional visibility.
• Sponsor lessons-learned, define RACI, and SOPs to prevent scope/timeline/versioning issues.
• Champion cost-validation frameworks, bulk funding, and automation initiatives.
