Horrocks in Reno, NV seeks a Design-Build Structures Lead/Manager to drive transportation structures design as part of our Innovative Pursuits Team. You will lead multidisciplinary groups on freeway, highway, and bridge projects for local and Rocky Mountain Region initiatives.

Ideal candidates have a PE license, extensive experience in transportation structures design, and proven leadership in infrastructure programs.

Qualifications

• PE license, preferred states: UT, NV, AZ, ID, CO, NM, WA.
• 10+ years in transportation structures design.
• 5+ years leading structural design teams for infrastructure projects.
• 3+ years of DOT DB or PDB experience.
• Strong leadership and client interaction skills.
• Organized and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural discipline engineering teams for Transportation on DB/PDB pursuits and projects.
• Coordinate with other discipline leads.
• Integral member of the project management and delivery team.
• Lead structural design, analysis, studies, plans, specifications, and quantity tasks.
• Knowledge and experience with standard bridge industry software.
• Maintain positive relationships with team members and clients.
• Be able to work on local and Rocky Mountain Region wide projects.
• Communicate effectively with clients, staff, and management.
• Meet project deadlines and contribute to client goals.

As a Design-Build Structures Lead/Manager for our Innovative Pursuits Team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of one of the Mountain West region’s leading Design-Build teams. We are teamed with local and national contractors, and together we provide our clients with innovative solutions that drive projects to success. Our goal is to provide value-added designs that help make our teams successful in the pursuit and delivery of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead structural discipline engineering teams for Transportation (freeways, interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural highways, and shared use facilities) on DB and/or PDB pursuits and projects.
• Coordinate with other discipline leads.
• Integral member of the project management and delivery team.
• Lead structural design, analysis, studies, reports, plans, specifications, and quantity tasks.
• Knowledge and experience with standard bridge industry software.
• Work effectively as a team leader in a group environment and maintain positive relationships with team members and clients.
• Ability and commitment to be assigned to local and Rocky Mountain Region wide projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff, and management.
• Proven history of meeting project deadlines.
• A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project while working in a team environment to create designs and drawings supporting our client’s overall project goals.
