Job summary

CIVIL WORKS CONTRACTING is seeking a Design-Build Project Manager to oversee design management, planning, procurement, budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, client relationships, and construction execution.

You will lead design teams through construction documents, coordinate multidisciplinary reviews, manage procurement and subcontracting, and collaborate with the in-house scheduler to control the critical path, changes, and risk while ensuring compliance with federal facility

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of Design-Build experience.
• Experience managing both design and construction phases.
• Experience managing design consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
• Federal construction experience required.
• Ability to satisfy federal facility badging and site-access requirements.
• Primavera P6 knowledge preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design management and design schedule through construction documents.
• Lead multidisciplinary design coordination and value engineering.
• Hold design consultants accountable for scope and deliverables.
• Manage procurement, subcontracting, long-lead materials, and subcontract administration.
• Coordinate with in-house scheduler to manage the project schedule and CPM.
• Monitor project financials, forecasting, changes, and risk.
• Administer contract requirements including RFIs, submittals, and change proposals.
• Maintain documentation supporting entitlement, costs, and schedule impacts.
• Support future design-build pursuits as needed.

The successful candidate will oversee design management, planning, procurement, budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, client relationships, and construction execution.

Essential Job Functions

• Manage the design team and design schedule through construction documents and construction support.
• Lead multidisciplinary design coordination, constructability reviews, and value engineering.
• Hold design consultants accountable for scope, schedule, coordination, and deliverable quality.
• Manage procurement, subcontractor buyout, long-lead materials, and subcontract administration.
• Work with our in-house scheduler to manage the overall project schedule, critical path, recovery plans, and time impacts.
• Manage project financials, forecasting, change management, and risk.
• Administer contract requirements, including notices, RFIs, submittals, modifications, change proposals, and REAs.
• Maintain documentation supporting entitlement, costs, and schedule impacts.
• Manage phasing, outages, commissioning, startup, and operational transitions where required.
• Support future design-build pursuits as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or other related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of Design Build experience
• Experience managing both the design and construction phases of design-build projects.
• Experience managing design consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
• Federal construction experience required.
• Experience with active, mission-critical, industrial, utility, or similar facilities preferred.
• Ability to understand CPM schedules and work effectively with an in-house scheduler.
• Primavera P6 knowledge preferred but not required.
• Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree.
• Ability to satisfy federal facility badging and site-access requirements.
