STRUCTURAL is seeking a Design Build Integration Manager to join our Houston or Lake Charles office and drive value across the Southwest Industrial Market. You will coordinate with Business Development, Engineering, and Operations to transform client challenges into constructable solutions that Operations can execute.

Responsibilities include leading IDB phases, managing design-build projects, reviewing estimates, drafting technical packages, and developing integrated schedules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years in civil/structural engineering or construction environments
  • Experience with Design Build project delivery
  • Ability to interface across levels internally and externally
  • Proficient in MS Office suite

Responsibilities

  • Lead coordination of BD, Engineering, and Operations through Investigate and Design phases of IDB lifecycle
  • Perform project management duties for Investigate and Design phases for Operations and engineering
  • Review design/build estimates with estimators and BD teams
  • Draft and support development of technical packages for projects and discussions
  • Develop repair solutions with engineering team for timely execution
  • Analyze data to facilitate constructable repair solution development
  • Coordinate and review deliverables including drawings, specs, and reports
  • Support meetings with clients to provide technical support for BD efforts
  • Develop integrated schedules with engineers and project management
  • Maintain profit, invoicing, and other project financials
  • Provide leadership to project teams and subcontractors
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships
  • Draft summaries for case histories and abstracts for conferences
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and quality on all projects
  • Travel up to 25%

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Design Build Integration Manager (DBIM) to join our Houston or Lake Charles office, supporting efforts throughout the Southwest Industrial Market. As a DBIM, you will be accountable for supporting the company in bringing the capabilities of STRUCTURAL to market. You will collaborate with our Business Development (BDM), Engineering, and Operations teams to support day-to-day efforts in taking our valued clients’ challenges from a problem to a value-engineered constructable solution for Operations to execute.

Responsibilities for this unique role include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead coordination of our BDM, Engineering, and Operations teams through the Investigate and Design phases of our Investigate Design Build (IDB) project lifecycle.
  • Perform project management duties for Investigate and Design phases for Operations and engineering, including 3rd party engineering companies when applicable.
  • Work closely with in-house Estimators and BDM teams to assist in reviewing design/build estimates and developing proposals.
  • Draft and support development of technical packages for submission on projects and for internal discussions.
  • Work with the engineering team to develop repair solutions that can be executed in efficient and timely manner.
  • Analyze data to facilitate constructable repair solution development with engineering, project management and construction teams.
  • Coordinate and participate in review of deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and written reports.
  • Participate in web-based meetings, in person meetings, emails, and phone calls with STRUCTURAL current and potential clients, to provide technical support to business development efforts.
  • Facilitate and participate in assessment and design presentation of findings for both customer and internal review
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions while working with internal contracts teams as needed
  • Develop and manage integrated schedules in collaboration with engineering, project management, and field leadership.
  • Drive and communicate project schedules, progress, and completion to ensure all parties are aware of milestones and expectations.
  • Maintain profit & loss responsibility as well as other project financials including projections, invoicing, etc.
  • Provide strong leadership and supervision to project teams (including other Project Managers, Field Managers, Project Engineers, Engineering, and field crews) and subcontractors.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Draft summaries of projects for use as case histories on website as well as abstracts for submission to technical conferences.
  • Demonstrate dedication to safety and quality control on all projects.
  • Travel expectation is 25%

Preference may be given to candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field of study.
  • 3+ years of experience in a professional environment related in civil/structural engineering or construction industries.
  • Experience working in Design Build project delivery
  • Strong understanding of sales functions, procedures, and standards along with structural and civil engineering concepts and practices.
  • Ability to interface well with all levels of the organization internally as well as externally with partner agencies and customers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills
  • Possess the ability to pass all training, screenings, and background requirements for Industrial site access.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
