Job summary

Mohawk Industries, Inc. in Dalton, Georgia is seeking a Design Associate to create and edit proposals, seaming diagrams, and flooring layouts. You will collaborate with sales, internal departments, and the POD team to develop installation plans that meet contractual and bid requirements.

You will generate takeoffs, refine visuals, and present concepts to clients, while adhering to manufacturing guidelines and timelines. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Expertise with AutoCAD is required, Callidusflooring software is preferred.
  • Basic working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Work on projects individually or as part of a team.
  • Create and edit proposals with accuracy with quick turn times using custom software.
  • Follow management, sales and customer instructions from concept to completion.
  • Understand and follow manufacturing guidelines for product installations.
  • Generate accurate takeoff quantities for flooring products and accessories.
  • Develop visuals for flooring products and prepare layouts for client approval.
  • Present layout concepts via phone, web, or in person in a professional manner.
  • Stay aware of trends in flooring and develop color schemes for clients.
  • Develop knowledge of functional practice, policy, and execution requirements.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

What we need:


The CAD Design Associate, under minimal supervision is responsible for creating proposals, seaming diagrams and/or flooring layouts by working with the sales staff and internal departments to develop an overall installation plan that will be most beneficial to the customer as well as most profitable for Mohawk. This position works with all National Accounts, Strategic Account Managers, Sales Representatives, and RVP’s, The POD team and Customer Service to ensure that the end-user/client is properly serviced according to contractual agreements and/or bid requirements and submitted plans.


What you'll do:


Work on projects and assignmentsindividually,as well aspart of a work team.


Create and edit proposals with accuracy with quick turn times using custom software.


Responsible for following instructionsfrom management,salesand/or customers, from concept to completionin a timely manner, withminimalguidance.


Responsible for understanding and following manufacturing guidelines for productinstallations.


Generateaccuratetakeoff quantities for flooring products and accessories.


Use artistic skills and design principles to develop exclusive visuals for desired flooring products and preparelayoutsfor internal and external client approval.


Ability to presentlayout design conceptsvia phone,weband in-personin a polishedprofessional manner.


Stay aware ofcurrenttrends in flooring, while occasionallydeveloping design and colorschemes for specific customers and layouts.


Using knowledge gained through resources, develop fundamental knowledge of functional practice, policy, and day-to-day execution requirements.


Performs other duties as needed.


What you have:


Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.


0-2years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.


ExpertisewithAutoCAD isrequired, and Callidusflooring software is preferred.


Basic working knowledge ofPhotoshop, Illustrator,InDesign, etc.required.


Should have a valid passport and be willing to travel 1-2 times a year internationally to Asia whenrequired.
