The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Fighters Mission Computing Hardware Engineer – Fighters Mission Systems Avionics located in Berkeley, MO.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Works with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
  • Analyzes and translates requirements into system, hardware, and software designs and interface specifications.
  • Designs hardware, software, and interface specifications.
  • Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
  • Assists in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
  • Solves problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
  • Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.

  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 5+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor’s Degree OR 3+ years of work-related experience with a Master’s degree OR a PhD.

  • Knowledge of Circuit Design, Electronic System Design, Requirements, Hardware/Software Development, EMI/EMC, Requirements management, configuration management, project engineering, project management, earned value management, Regression Testing, Anomaly Reporting.
  • Experience developing or integrating avionics or mission systems.
  • Experience in requirements verification and validation.
  • Experience developing/maintaining team schedules, resource management, earned value management, risk management, and project management.

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range:

Level 3: $96,050 - $129,950

Export Control Requirements: This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
