Job summary

The Indianapolis Zoo is seeking a Deserts Keeper of Reptiles & Amphibians dedicated to advancing its mission to protect nature. The successful candidate will maintain various reptiles and amphibians, participate in animal interactions, and ensure their well-being.

This full-time role requires a Bachelor’s in Life Sciences or Zoology, along with hands-on animal care experience, especially with snakes and crocodilians. Strong communication and observational skills are essential, as is the ability to work in varying environmental conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year related work experience.
• Prior experience with venomous and non-venomous snakes and/or crocodilians.
• Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and care for amphibians and reptiles.
• Engage in daily husbandry tasks and animal interactions.
• Participate in animal programming and events.
