Job summary

Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department in Cave Creek, AZ is seeking a Park Maintenance Worker to join the regional park system. The role focuses on maintaining facilities, landscapes, trails, and grounds to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for millions of visitors annually.

You will perform a variety of maintenance tasks, operate basic power equipment, and contribute to the upkeep of Cave Creek Regional Park, located north of Phoenix.

Qualifications

• One year of general maintenance, custodial, or building maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver’s license by time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform facilities maintenance activities, including cleaning restrooms, Ramadas, and park locations; painting interior and exterior structures; graffiti removal; installing road and trail signage; and minor irrigation/plumbing repairs.
• Perform landscape and vegetation maintenance, including trash collection, tree pruning, weeding, erosion control, and trail maintenance.
• Safely operate power equipment, septic and water systems for maintenance tasks; provide excellent customer service by greeting visitors and answering questions.
• Provide direction to crews for manual labor tasks and assist with park emergencies when needed.
