Job summary

Energy Job Shop in Alice, TX is seeking an experienced Oilfield Derrick Hands to join a 4–5 person workover rig crew, performing elevated work on derricks and supporting rig operations. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role requiring safety-consciousness and the ability to work at heights outdoors.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of Derrick hand experience and 2 years on a workover rig floor, plus a valid driver license (CDL preferred) and completion of fall protection training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• CDL Class A or B preferred; valid state license with clean MVR.
• Minimum 1 year derrick hand experience.
• At least 2 years workover rig floor experience.
• Ability to work on a rotational field schedule and travel as needed.
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights 50 feet or more with fall protection.
• Completion of company-required heights/fall protection training.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs and pass pre-employment drug/alcohol testing.

Derrick Hands are sought by Axis for their Alice, Texas location. This role is part of a 4–5-person workover rig crew, performing elevated work on derricks and supporting rig operations. The ideal candidate is experienced, safety-conscious, and able to work at heights and in challenging outdoor environments. This is a hands-on, physically demanding position for those with prior workover rig experience.

What You’ll Need

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Valid state issued driver license with acceptable MVR; CDL Class A or B preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Derrick hand experience required
• At least 2 years of workover rig floor experience required
• Ability to work a rotational field schedule and travel as needed
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights of 50 feet or more with fall protection
• Completion of company-required working-at-heights/fall protection training
• Ability to work safely in outdoor field environments and comply with PPE and safety requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. individually
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug/alcohol testing and any required post-offer evaluations
