Job summary

Stoneham Drilling is seeking a Derrickhand to join our rig team in a full-time seasonal role. The position focuses on safe handling of the drill string and drilling fluid systems, with responsibilities including mud management, pipe handling in the derrick, and supporting the Driller during tripping operations.

Candidates must have prior Derrickhand experience, a valid driver’s license, and be able to work at height in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Previous drilling rig experience as Derrickhand.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to pass pre-employment testing.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Willing to work in all weather conditions and be away from home as needed.
• Valid certificates required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Driller with maintenance of drilling fluid circulation equipment.
• Climb and work in the rig derrick to guide and handle drill pipe during tripping.
• Monitor drilling fluid properties, circulation rates, and mud handling equipment.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on the circulating system and equipment.
• Work on/above the drilling floor guiding drill pipe during operations.
• Identify hazards and implement controls.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
