Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Altamonte Springs, FL is seeking a Dermatopathologist to join a small, high-volume team of two pathologists. The ideal candidate will be board certified in anatomic and/or clinical pathology and dermatopathology.

You will interpret dermatopathology cases, advise on molecular and genetic testing, and participate in QC/QA/QI activities, with ongoing CME to maintain licensure. This on-site role offers collaboration with outstanding staff and comprehensive support.

Qualifications

• Board certification in anatomic and/or clinical pathology and dermatopathology
• MD or DO degree required
• Subspeciality Dermatopathology fellowship required
• Florida license or eligibility to practice medicine
• Strong customer focus and understanding of laboratory operations
• Ability to perform microscopy for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic interpretation of all dermatopathology cases
• Recommend advanced diagnostic testing including molecular and genetic studies
• Initiate quality improvement actions in the workplace
• Participate in QC/QA/QI to uphold standards of service and excellence
• Provide clinical context to referring physicians regarding findings
• Engage in Continuing Medical Education to maintain licensure and credentials

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic interpretation of all dermatopathology cases
• Be familiar and able to recommend clinically appropriate advanced diagnostic testing such as molecular and genetic studies.
• Takes initiative to improve quality in the workplace.
• Participates and coordinates activities of QC/QA/QI to ensure quality care and evaluates effectiveness of quality assurance policies and procedures to enhance standards and excellence of service laboratory and company.
• Provide advice to referring physicians regarding the clinical significance of laboratory findings.
• Actively builds upon education and experience through Continuing Medical Education to maintain licensure and credentials.

Qualifications

• M.D. or D.O.
• Subspeciality Dermatopathology fellowship required
• 2-3 years post residency experience desired
• Active unrestricted license to practice in Florida
• Strong customer focus and understanding of laboratory operations
• Ability visually, audibly, and physically performs all job functions.
• Ability to spend consecutive hours with continued focus, interpreting tissues and cellular preparations through a microscope.
