Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Altamonte Springs, FL seeks a Dermatopathologist to join a small team of two pathologists in a high-volume, collaborative practice. Board certification in dermatopathology and in anatomic and/or clinical pathology is required, with a subspecialty fellowship and Florida license preferred.

You will provide diagnostic interpretations, discuss molecular testing options, and contribute to quality initiatives, education, and collaboration with referring physicians.

Qualifications

• Board certification in anatomic and/or clinical pathology
• Board certified in dermatopathology
• Subspecialty Dermatopathology fellowship required
• 2-3 years post residency experience desired
• Active unrestricted license to practice in Florida

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic interpretation of all dermatopathology cases
• Be familiar and able to recommend clinically appropriate advanced diagnostic testing such as molecular and genetic studies
• Takes initiative to improve quality in the workplace
• Participates and coordinates activities of QC/QA/QI to ensure quality care and evaluates effectiveness of quality assurance policies and procedures to enhance standards and excellence of service laboratory and company
• Provide advice to referring physicians regarding the clinical significance of laboratory findings
• Actively builds upon education and experience through Continuing Medical Education to maintain licensure and credentials

• Strong customer focus and understanding of laboratory operations
• Ability visually, audibly, and physically performs all job functions.
• Ability to spend consecutive hours with continued focus, interpreting tissues and cellular preparations through a microscope.
