Job summary
PetVet Care Centers' Memphis Veterinary Specialists & Emergency is seeking a Dermatology Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks, including cleaning, feeding, restraining, and clerical duties. Qualifications
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
- Relevant experience in a veterinary environment, successfully performing all duties of this position.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care to all patients
- Greet patients and owners, record weight and vital signs
- Triage patients, assist with exams, treatments and medications
- Calm and soothe anxious patients
- Assist doctors and technicians with medications and restraints
- Perform laboratory tests and radiographs
- Operate and maintain hospital equipment
- Fill prescriptions and maintain proper documentation
- Feed and monitor patient appetites and status
- Communicate with clients and educate on insurance and wellness
- Maintain hospital cleanliness and safety
- Groom and bathe overnight patients
- Adhere to safety and wellness regulations
- Maintain medical records and learn directions
- Maintain regular full-time presence
- Promote products and services
- Respond to directions from DVM/LVT
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager
