Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care in Portland, Maine, seeks a Dermatology Veterinary Assistant to join our multi-specialty practice. You will work closely with our board-certified dermatologist to support patients from diagnosis through follow-up, delivering compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Experienced veterinary assistant required.
• Experience in specialty medicine and/or dermatology preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Confident working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Familiarity with veterinary software such as EzyVet or SmartFlow is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and immunotherapy under supervision of a dermatologist.
• Assist with diagnostics including lab work, imaging, and CT scans.
• Support oncology appointments and manage patient flow and scheduling.
• Maintain accurate medical records, treatment notes, and drug logs.
• Provide empathetic client communication and education.
• Collaborate with Internal Medicine, Oncology, Surgery, and Radiology teams.
• Deliver emotional support and patient-centered care during treatment.
