Dermatology Territory Account Specialist - Toms River - Remote

Job Summary

This is a field-based and remote opportunity supporting key accounts within an assigned geography. Please note, Novartis cannot provide relocation support for this role; only apply if this location is accessible to you.

The Territory Account Specialist (TAS) is a proactive sales leader who crafts a tailored customer experience for each account and healthcare provider (HCP). As the primary point of contact, the TAS engages with clients to identify mutual priorities, address their needs through problem-solving, and leverage Novartis resources to improve patient outcomes. The role requires expertise in clinical and account selling, access navigation, team collaboration, and omni-channel engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop strategic territory business plans by pinpointing mutual priorities and utilizing insights to increase product demand, addressing key partners' and patients' needs to achieve exceptional outcomes.
  2. Promote clinical discussions that motivate customers to advocate for their patients, involving the entire account team to identify barriers and offer solutions.
  3. Leverage market understanding, including competitors, industry trends, and cross-functional strategies, to manage business opportunities and challenges effectively.
  4. Conduct planning meetings with stakeholders to resolve complex issues and collaborate across departments to meet customer needs.
  5. Analyze market data within the territory to understand the local landscape, foster engagement, and lead virtual and in-person customer interactions.
  6. Utilize omni-channel strategies to maximize Novartis capabilities for personalized customer engagement, whether in person or virtually.
  7. Collaborate with regional colleagues, field staff, and home-office teams to proactively address customer needs and facilitate access support.
  8. Provide timely access assistance and coordinate with Patient Specialty Services (PSS) to address customer requirements efficiently.
Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • At least 2 years' experience in specialty pharmaceuticals, biotech, or a similar sales role within the last 5 years.
  • Strong collaboration skills across functions, proficient clinical product knowledge, a track record of high performance, and experience selling to large accounts and key segments.
  • Proactive with analytical skills to interpret data, solve problems, and prioritize customer needs, while maintaining ethical standards and compliance.
  • Reside within the territory or within 50 miles of its border; ability to travel 60-80% across a broad geography; valid driver's license required.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience with various therapeutic areas, disease states, account management, and product launches.
  • Knowledge of patient services, market access, reimbursement pathways, and medical calling on HCPs for sophisticated products.
Position Levels
  • Territory Account Specialist: 2+ years' experience
  • Senior Territory Account Specialist: 5+ years' experience
  • Executive Territory Account Specialist: 10+ years' experience
Additional Role Requirements

Compensation & Benefits

The starting salary ranges from $93,800 to $174,200 for the Territory Account Specialist, $114,100 to $211,900 for Senior, and $126,000 to $234,000 for Executive levels. Final pay depends on experience, location, and other factors. Benefits include bonuses, stock units, medical, 401(k), paid time off, and more. Specifics will be provided upon offer.

Training & Sponsorship

Initial training will be completed within eight hours per day over a maximum of forty hours weekly. Visa sponsorship is not available.
