Job Description Summary

This is a field-based and remote opportunity supporting key accounts in an assigned geography.

The Territory Account Specialist (TAS) is a driven sales business leader who designs a customized customer experience tailored to the needs of each account and Healthcare Provider (HCP). Acting as the primary Point of Contact (PoC), the TAS engages with clients to identify mutual priorities and address their needs by problem-solving and leveraging Novartis resources to enhance patient outcomes. The TAS possesses expertise in clinical selling, account selling, access navigation, problem solving, team collaboration, and omni-channel engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify mutual priorities and develop strategic territory business plans to enhance product demand by addressing the needs of key partners and their patients, aiming for exceptional outcomes.
  • Encourage clinical discussions that motivate customers to advocate for their patients, involving the entire account team to identify barriers and offer solutions.
  • Use market understanding, industry trends, and cross-functional strategies to manage business opportunities and challenges effectively.
  • Conduct planning meetings with stakeholders to resolve complex customer issues and collaborate across departments to meet customer needs.
  • Analyze market data within the territory to understand the local landscape, promote engagement, and lead virtual and in-person interactions.
  • Utilize omni-channel strategies to maximize Novartis capabilities for personalized customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with regional colleagues, other field staff, and home-office teams to proactively meet customer needs and provide access support.
  • Provide timely access assistance and work with Patient Specialty Services to address customer requirements efficiently.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees are a plus.
  • At least 2 years' experience in specialty pharmaceuticals, biotech, or similar sales roles within the last 5 years.
  • Strong collaboration skills, proficient communication of clinical product details, a history of high performance, and experience selling to large accounts and key segments.
  • Proactive with strong analytical skills, ethical leadership, and compliance awareness.
  • Reside within the territory or within 50 miles of the territory border; ability to travel 60-80% within the territory; valid driver's license required.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience in therapeutic groups, disease states, market access, reimbursement, and medical calling on HCPs regarding sophisticated products.

Leveling Guidelines: The position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.

Position Levels:

  • Recently separated from military service or no prior sales experience: Territory Account Associate.
  • 2+ years' relevant experience: Territory Account Specialist.
  • 5+ years' relevant experience: Senior Territory Account Specialist.
  • 10+ years' relevant experience: Executive Territory Account Specialist.

Compensation and Benefits: Salary ranges depend on level, with additional benefits such as sign-on bonuses, stock units, and discretionary awards. Details provided upon offer.

Training: Initial training required, completed within 8 hours/day and 40 hours/week.

Salary Range: $114,100 - $211,900 annually, depending on experience and level.
