Job Description Summary

This is a field-based and remote opportunity supporting key accounts in an assigned geography.

The Territory Account Specialist (TAS) is a driven sales business leader who designs a customized customer experience tailored to the needs of each account and Healthcare Provider (HCP). Acting as the primary Point of Contact (PoC), the TAS engages with clients to identify mutual priorities and address their needs by problem-solving and leveraging Novartis resources to improve patient outcomes. The role requires expertise in clinical selling, account management, access navigation, problem-solving, team collaboration, and omni-channel engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Identify mutual priorities and develop strategic territory business plans to enhance product demand by addressing key partners' and patients' needs, aiming for exceptional outcomes.
  2. Encourage clinical discussions that motivate customers to advocate for their patients and involve the account team to identify and resolve barriers.
  3. Utilize expertise in market dynamics, competitors, industry trends, and cross-functional strategies to manage business opportunities and challenges.
  4. Conduct planning meetings with stakeholders to resolve complex issues and collaborate across departments to meet customer needs.
  5. Analyze market data to understand local business landscapes, promote engagement, and lead virtual and in-person customer interactions.
  6. Leverage omni-channel strategies to maximize engagement through various channels, including virtual and in-person interactions.
  7. Collaborate with regional colleagues, field staff, and home-office teams to proactively meet customer needs and support access.
  8. Provide timely access support and work with Patient Specialty Services (PSS) to address customer requirements efficiently.
Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree is a plus.
  • At least 2 years' experience in specialty pharmaceuticals, biotech, or a similar sales role within the last 5 years.
  • Strong collaboration skills across functions, proficient in clinical product details, and a proven high-performance record.
  • Proactive with strong analytical skills, ethical leadership, and adherence to compliance policies.
  • Reside within the territory or within 50 miles of its border; willingness to travel 60-80% within the territory; valid driver's license required.
Desirable Requirements:
  • Experience in therapeutic groups, disease states, account management, and new product launches.
  • Understanding of patient services, market access, reimbursement, and medical calling on HCPs for sophisticated products.
Leveling Guidelines:

The position will be filled at a level appropriate to the candidate's experience, ranging from Territory Account Specialist to Executive Territory Account Specialist based on years of experience.

Additional Information:

Driving is an essential function of this role; a valid and unrestricted driver's license is required. Novartis does not sponsor visas for this position. The role involves initial training, which must be completed successfully.
