The Territory Account Specialist (TAS) is a driven sales business leader who designs a customized customer experience tailored to the needs of each account and Healthcare Provider (HCP). Acting as the primary Point of Contact (PoC), the TAS engages with clients to identify mutual priorities, address their needs through problem-solving, and leverage Novartis resources to improve patient outcomes. The role requires expertise in clinical selling, account management, access navigation, team collaboration, and omni-channel engagement.
Pinpoint mutual priorities and develop strategic territory business plans using insights and strategies across the account to enhance product demand and meet the needs of key partners and patients, aiming for exceptional outcomes.
Encourage clinical discussions that motivate the customer to advocate for their patients, involving the entire account team to identify barriers and offer solutions.
Utilize expertise in market understanding, competitors, industry trends, and cross-functional strategies to manage business opportunities and challenges effectively.
Conduct planning meetings with key stakeholders to resolve complex customer issues and collaborate across departments to meet customer needs.
Analyze market data and trends within the territory to understand the local landscape, promote engagement, and lead virtual and in-person customer interactions.
Employ omni-channel strategies to maximize Novartis capabilities for personalized customer engagement, both virtually and in person.
Collaborate with regional colleagues, field staff, and home-office teams to proactively meet customer needs and facilitate access support.
Provide timely access assistance and work with Patient Specialty Services (PSS) to address customer requirements efficiently.
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees are a plus.
At least 2 years' experience in specialty pharmaceuticals, biotech, or similar sales roles within the last 5 years.
Strong collaboration skills across functions, proficient in clinical product details, with a track record of high performance, especially in large account management.
Proactive with strong analytical skills to identify, prioritize, and solve problems using relevant data, demonstrating ethical leadership and compliance.
Residency within the territory or within 50 miles of the territory border. Ability to travel 60-80% across a broad geography is required, with a valid driver's license.
Experience in therapeutic groups, disease states, account management, and product launches.
Knowledge in patient services, market access, reimbursement, and medical calling on HCPs regarding sophisticated products or reimbursement pathways.
Driving is an essential function of this role; a valid, unrestricted driver's license is required. Novartis does not sponsor visas. The role may require completing training within specified hours. This position is subject to Novartis' COVID-19 vaccine policy and compensation guidelines.
