Responsibilities
Derm Tech I
The Dermatology Technician provides supportive patient care functions for Dermatology and other assigned clinical areas under the supervision of a Physician, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Vocational Nurse. They ensure the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational, and professional standards. Duties may be delegated to the technician by the physician or RN. This role serves as primary support for an assigned Dermatologist and involves demonstrating knowledge of medical terminology to assist in documentation during office visits and procedures. The technician may be asked to scribe for physicians, assist with high-level skills such as administering injectables, performing phototherapy or laser treatments, setting up procedures, removing sutures, patient education on isotretinoin, applying patch testing, sterilizing instruments, and managing pathology logs.
Derm Tech II/III
The Sr. Dermatology Technician provides similar supportive patient care functions, serving as primary support for an assigned Dermatologist. Additional duties include demonstrating knowledge of medical terminology, scribing, assisting with high-level procedures, patient education, and managing pathology logs. The role requires more experience and certifications depending on the level.

Salary Range: $39,179 – $57,548 (based on education, experience, certifications, etc.)

Education: Required: High School diploma or GED, and graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program. Preferred: N/A

Special Skills
Must complete review/skill validation within 90 days, proficient with equipment, supplies, computer skills, basic medical/nursing terminology. Preferred: Windows skills, EPIC experience.
Other
Required: BLS Certification through American Red Cross, completion of department-specific modules for medical assistants. Preferred: N/A
