Job summary

JumpStart Games is seeking a Dermatology technician to support a dermatologist with clinical and administrative tasks. This role includes preparing patients, assisting with procedures, administering medications and injections, and performing biopsy procedures as needed.

The selected candidate will maintain CPR certification, adhere to clinic policies, and participate in staff meetings. A Medical Assistant program or related MA experience is required, with MA certification due within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year MA work experience in the last 2 years
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment
• Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment
• 1 Year experience in Dermatology (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Summons and prepares patient for office visit.

• Maintains current CPR certification/recertification.
• Reads and references new policy, procedures and newsletters.

• Maintains confidentiality of clinic materials.
• Provides and reinforces patient instruction and education as indicated.

Essential Functions

• Summons and prepares patient for office visit.
• Assists Provider or PA with medical office procedures.
• Administers medications, including injections, documents meds given or prescribed by ordering provider.
• Administers dermatology and pathology biopsy procedures.
• Assumes responsibility of maintaining current certification in CPR.
• Accepts responsibility for reading and referencing new policy & procedures and newsletters.
• Adheres to nursing policy and procedure when documenting in patient’s record.
• Attends support staff and department meetings to keep informed of employee issues and concerns as well as organizational updates.
• Maintains confidentiality of clinic materials.
• Provides and reinforces patient instruction and education as indicated.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year of Medical Assistant work experience within the last 2 years. Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment. Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment.

Preferred Education and Experience: Experience or training in a medical health care facility as a Medical Assistant.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications: 1 Year experience in Dermatology.
