Job summary

Watson-Clinic in Lakeland, FL is seeking an LPN or Medical Assistant to support a dermatologist in a busy office.

The role includes patient prep, assisting with procedures, administering medications and injections, and maintaining documentation and CPR certification. 75% patient-facing with occasional admin tasks; typical schedule Monday–Friday 8:00 am–4:30 pm.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing and hold an active Florida LPN license.
• Medical Assistant route: completion of an accredited MA program or 1 year MA experience in last 2 years; MA certification within 90 days of employment.
• BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment.
• Dermatology experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Summons and prepares patient for office visits.

• Performs dermatology and pathology biopsy procedures.
• Maintains CPR certification; follows updated policies and procedures.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE NEED TO BE AN LPN OR A MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Summary/Objective: Perform a variety of clinical and/or administrative task to help a dermatologist run their office

Essential Functions

• Summons and prepares patient for office visit.
• Assists Physician or PA with medical office procedures.
• Administers medications, including injections, documents meds given or prescribed by ordering provider.
• Administers dermatology and pathology biopsy procedures.
• Assumes responsibility of maintaining current certification in CPR.
• Accepts responsibility for reading and referencing new policy & procedures and newsletters.
• Adheres to nursing policy and procedure when documenting in patient’s record.
• Attends support staff and department meetings to keep informed of employee issues and concerns as well as organizational updates.
• Maintains confidentiality of clinic materials.
• Provides and reinforces patient instruction and education as indicated.

Full time- Monday- Friday 8:00 am- 4:30 pm

Requirements

LPN Specialist requirements are:

Required Education and Experience: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing. Must possess active Florida license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Preferred Education and Experience: Experience or training in a medical health care facility as a Licensed Practical Nurse. 1 year experience in Dermatology.

Medical Assistant Specialist Requirements are:

Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year of Medical Assistant work experience within the last 2 years. Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment. Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment

Additional Qualification: 1 Year experience Dermatology.
