Phothera Phototherapy is seeking a Dermatology Sales Specialist to launch and grow the South Florida territory. You will establish relationships with dermatology providers, educate practices on home phototherapy, and drive prescription growth across Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and surrounding markets.
The role requires clinical credibility, autonomous fieldwork, and success in opening new accounts while expanding adoption of Phothera’s home phototherapy platform.
South Florida (Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, Naples, Fort Myers, and surrounding Atlantic and Gulf Coast markets)
Highly field-based role with regular travel throughout South Florida, including occasional overnight travel as business needs require
VP, Sales
Lucas James Talent Partners has been retained by Phothera, a Madison Medical company within Madison Industries, to identify a high-performing Dermatology Sales Specialist to launch and grow one of the company's highest-priority commercial territories.
Phothera is transforming how patients access phototherapy by allowing appropriate patients to receive treatment in the comfort of their own home rather than traveling to a dermatology office multiple times each week.
The company's home phototherapy platform provides dermatologists with an evidence-based, non-systemic treatment option for patients living with psoriasis, atopic dermatitis (eczema), and vitiligo. As physicians continue looking for effective alternatives and complements to biologic therapies, home phototherapy provides an additional treatment option for appropriate patients.
Backed by Madison Industries, Phothera combines the stability of an established organization with the visibility and opportunity of a growing commercial team.
This is a true builder opportunity.
Rather than inheriting a mature territory with established prescribing habits, you'll introduce providers to Phothera's home phototherapy platform, establish new clinical relationships, educate practices on patient selection and workflow, and drive long-term territory growth.
The successful candidate will serve as the commercial leader for South Florida, becoming a primary point of contact for dermatology providers while driving awareness, adoption, prescription growth, and new business.
Success requires clinical credibility, disciplined territory management, and the ability to build lasting relationships across every level of a dermatology practice.
We're especially interested in professionals who have current or recent relationships with medical dermatologists, enjoy creating opportunities where none previously existed, and thrive in entrepreneurial environments where they can operate with significant autonomy.
Product launch experience is highly valued, as is demonstrated success developing underpenetrated territories, opening new accounts, and influencing prescribing behavior.
Important: This position requires medical dermatology sales experience. Experience primarily within medical aesthetics, med spas, injectables, cosmetic dermatology, or aesthetic devices alone does not meet the experience requirements for this role.
While Miami is the preferred home base, candidates should expect to regularly travel throughout South Florida, including:
This is a highly field-based position. Representatives should expect to spend four or more days each week meeting with dermatologists, advanced practice providers, biologic coordinators, office managers, and other key practice stakeholders.
Candidates should be comfortable driving several hours between metropolitan markets, developing efficient routing plans, and independently managing a large geography. Occasional overnight travel should be expected when necessary to maximize field productivity.
Existing relationships with medical dermatologists throughout South Florida are highly preferred.
Just as important is the ability to continue opening new doors, developing new prescribing providers, and expanding adoption across the territory.
Develop credibility and relationships with dermatologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, biologic coordinators, office managers, medical assistants, prior authorization specialists, and clinical support staff.
Operate with a high degree of autonomy and manage the territory like a business owner, including territory planning, account prioritization, call planning, field execution, opportunity management, performance analysis, and forecasting.
You are a medical dermatology sales professional who combines established provider relationships with a genuine desire to build.
You understand how to establish credibility with physicians and their teams, influence prescribing behavior, navigate complex practices, and translate clinical information into meaningful conversations.
You're energized by opening new doors, developing prescribers, launching products, and creating measurable territory growth. You're comfortable operating independently and continuously evaluating where your time and resources will have the greatest commercial impact.
As one of Phothera's early commercial hires, you'll have the opportunity to help shape how the company grows, how providers adopt home phototherapy, and how patients gain access to an important evidence-based treatment option.
This opportunity is ideal for professionals who want to build and own a strategically important territory, work directly with leadership, introduce an innovative therapy, leverage existing dermatologist relationships while building new ones, and be rewarded for performance through an uncapped commission structure.
If you enjoy building markets, developing long-term provider partnerships, and helping improve patient access to innovative therapies, we'd welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
