Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island in Commack is seeking a Physician Assistant, Faculty Group Practice for NYU Ambulatory Care to provide and coordinate comprehensive medical care under the supervision of a physician. This role supports education and patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings.

The selected candidate will hold a NYS PA license, NCCPA certification, and BLS, with preferred ACLS/PALS. Competitive benefits and ongoing professional development are provided.

Qualifications

• Physician Assistant Bachelor's Degree (BA-PA) and New York State PA license.
• NCCPA Board Certification.
• Basic Life Support Certification (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Supports the mission, philosophy, standards, goals and objectives of the institution, department and clinical service.
• Educates patient and family to facilitate healthy adjustment to new or changed health patterns.
• Evaluates treatment and health care plans for effectiveness and modifies per clinical standards.
• Prescribes medical equipment, devices, physical and occupational therapy, and home health services per practice protocol.
• Coordinates implementation of clinical research studies or clinical trials, including patient screening, enrollment and data collection.
• Works collaboratively with nursing and other disciplines in the development and implementation of clinical studies within the area of expertise.
