Job summary

Essen Health Care in New York is seeking a Physician Assistant to support dermatology services under physician supervision. You will take histories, perform exams, diagnose skin conditions, order tests, and assist in procedures including Mohs surgery.

Bilingual Spanish a plus, with emphasis on compassionate care for diverse populations. Eligible candidates hold a Master’s PA degree, NY PA license, NCCPA cert, and prior dermatology experience; J1/CONRAD 30 waivers are welcome.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree required.
• Active New York license as a Physician Assistant and at least 6 months of working experience as a PA in Dermatology
• Current NCCPA certification
• Graduate of an approved PA Program and post-graduate surgical training or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories
• Perform physical exams, including skin cancer screening
• Diagnose and treat skin conditions (acne, eczema, rosacea)
• Order and interpret tests
• Perform biopsies, wide excisions, and cryotherapy
• Develop treatment plans
• Prescribe medication
• Provide information about preventive care

Job Summary

The Physician Assistant will support the doctors’ work and actively facilitate patients’ recovery. You will apply medical techniques and principles under the direction of a physician and you will deal with a diverse set of patients offering them care and encouragement.

Responsibilities include

• Take medical histories
• Perform physical exams, including skin cancer screening exams
• Diagnose and treat skin conditions, such as acne, eczema, and rosacea
• Order and interpret tests
• Perform biopsies, wide excisions, and cryotherapy
• Develop treatment plans
• Prescribe medication
• Provide information about preventive care
• Perform certain minimally and non-invasive cosmetic procedures, such as Botox injections, laser skin resurfacing, and mild or moderate chemical peels
• Assist in surgeries, such as Mohs surgery

Job Requirements

• Master’s Degree required
• Active New York license as a Physician Assistant and at least 6 months of working experience as a PA in Dermatology
• Currently New York Controlled Substance and Drug Enforcement Registration
• Master's degree
• Graduate of an approved PA Program and a post-graduate training program in surgery or at least one-year equivalent work experience
• Current Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
• Emergency Medicine / Family Practice/Acute Care
• DOT, BLS, ACLS Preferred
• Bilingual a plus - Spanish
• Proven work experience as a physician assistant or nurse
• Knowledge of EMR Systems preferred

Salary $135,000-$150,000
