Objective
Lone Star Circle of Care is seeking a dedicated dermatologist to establish specialty care servicing both our federally qualified health center (FQHC) patients and the broader community. The ideal candidate brings expertise in outpatient diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions with a patient-centric approach.
Responsibilities
- Examine, diagnose, treat, and refer patients on an outpatient basis.
- Manage dermatologic conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin infections, autoimmune skin disorders, and complex diseases.
- Perform skin exams, mole evaluations, and cancer screenings.
- Provide procedures like biopsies, cryotherapy, excisions, and injections.
- Manage complex cases requiring systemic therapies.
- Collaborate with primary care and other teams for comprehensive patient management.
- Develop referral pathways for advanced procedures and cosmetic requests.
- Contribute to dermatology clinics and teledermatology services.
- Participate in research, quality improvement, and interdisciplinary programs.
- Complete medical charts promptly in the EMR system.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Medical Director.
Training & Operations
- Provide staff training in dermatology management.
- Participate in educational activities for trainees.
- Ensure quality medical care and participate in audits.
- Supervise support staff and meet productivity and quality metrics.
- Attend meetings and contribute to committees.
Compliance & Knowledge
- Follow LSCC’s standards, maintain licensure, and meet certification requirements.
- Maintain faculty appointments and credentialing.
- Perform peer audits and conduct meetings with advanced practice providers.
- Maintain certifications like BLS and LMS trainings.
Qualifications
- Current Texas medical license, MD or DO degree, completed dermatology residency.
- Board certification in Dermatology.
- DEA certification and BLS certification.
- Continuing education as required.
Preferred Experience
- At least 2 years outpatient dermatology experience.
- Experience with pediatric dermatology and teledermatology platforms.
- Proficiency in EMR and digital health tools.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
