Job summary

PhyNet Dermatology LLC (External) is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to support dermatology physicians with patient care, rooming, and documenting visits. The role includes assisting with procedures such as biopsies, Botox, laser treatments, and excisions, while maintaining sterile techniques and accurate records.

Responsibilities also include scribing, prescription refills, and coordinating with laboratories.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 3+ years of Medical Assistant experience, preferably in dermatology.
• Medical Assistant Credentials/Certification Required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate patient records.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Travel to all locations to support operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team to manage up to 40 patients daily.
• Document patient histories, including HPI, medical, surgical and family history, meds, and allergies.
• Prepare and assist with dermatological procedures (biopsies, I&D, Botox, laser treatments, excisions).
• Administer local anesthesia and remove sutures as directed.
• Maintain sterile techniques and infection control practices.
• Perform scribing duties and input templates/chart notes as directed.
• Process prescription refills and manage prior authorizations.
• Log pathology samples and coordinate with laboratories.
• Operate specialized equipment such as Narrowband UVB and PDT units.
• Maintain and replenish liquid nitrogen containers.
• Clean and stock examination rooms and supply areas.
• Adhere to organizational infection control protocols.
• Travel to other locations as needed.
