Job summary

PhyNet Dermatology LLC (External) in Plymouth, MA seeks a Medical Assistant - Gap Student to support physicians, room patients, update histories, document visit details, and assist with derm procedures such as biopsies, surgeries, and skin treatments.

Responsibilities include handling local anesthesia, scribing, prescriptions, labs, and equipment like UVB phototherapy, while maintaining sterile techniques and reliable attendance. On-site, Monday–Friday, 8 hours/day, $20–$23 hourly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0–3 years of medical assistant experience, preferably in dermatology.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and update medical histories and visit details.
• Assist with dermatology procedures (biopsies, I&D, excisions, laser, Botox).
• Administer local anesthesia and remove sutures as directed.
• Maintain sterile techniques and infection control.
• Scribe templates and chart notes as directed by physicians.
• Process prescription refills and manage prior authorizations.
• Log pathology samples and coordinate with labs.
• Operate UVB and photodynamic therapy units.
• Maintain and replenish supplies and rooms.
• Attend consistently and perform other duties as assigned.
