Job summary

DOCS Dermatology Group in Michigan is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians with patient intake, exam preparation, and basic nursing tasks. The role includes EHR data entry, vital signs, phlebotomy assistance, and coordinating procedures.

You will work under the Practice Manager and center Physicians/Providers, maintain sterile environments, manage supplies, and help ensure a high standard of patient care and service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a medical office.
• Ability to learn related center tasks and assist management and physicians.
• Self-motivated to achieve the highest patient care and customer service standards.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding (preferred).
• Familiarity with the ModMed EMA EMR (preferred).
• Thorough understanding of HIPAA law.
• Some offices within the Docs Dermatology Group network may require travel.
• Team player.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history and confirming purpose of visit.
• Enter medical history and visit information into EHR.
• Escort patients to exam room.
• Prepare patient for exam by providing drapes and materials.
• Taking photographs and assisting physician during examinations.
• Phone in prescriptions to pharmacies and schedule procedures.
• Instruct patients on proper usage of medications.
• Maintain and stock supplies; manage sterilization and safety standards.
• Complete phone triage and notify patients of pathology results.
• Administer medications as ordered and document nurse visits.
