Job summary

Optima Dermatology is seeking an experienced full-time Medical Assistant to join our dermatology and aesthetic practice in Mentor and Independence, OH. The role includes room preparation, patient vitals, and assisting physicians with procedures.

The ideal candidate has a medical assisting license or higher, dermatology experience or EMR familiarity, and strong patient communication skills. Eligible candidates will work a 7:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule with two-location coverage.

Qualifications

• Licensed medical assistant or equivalent nursing degree with dermatology preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in a dermatology medical office preferred.
• Experience using EMA EMR highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms, stock supplies, and ready procedure trays.
• Take vital signs and interview patients to assess needs.
• Assist physicians with procedures such as sutures and minor surgeries.
• Package specimens for outside labs and submit results to physicians.
• Coordinate tests, referrals, and appointments with patients and sites.
• Pre-certify medications and manage referrals with insurers.
• Maintain inventory and ensure confidentiality and safety at all times.
• Communicate with physicians and office staff to support practice.
