Job summary

Summit Health Management is seeking a Medical Assistant for a Dermatology practice in Montclair, NJ. The MA will support physicians andPAs with room preparation, patient flow, vitals and documentation in EHR, and scheduling. The role requires clinical and clerical duties within scope of practice.

Ideal candidates have a medical assistant or phlebotomy program with 0–4 years of experience, English proficiency, and basic computer skills. Travel to satellite offices may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program, required.
• 0-1 year related work experience, required; 2-4 years preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days of hire, required.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, required.
• Basic proficiency in computer use, required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cleans examination room; escorts patient into the room.
• Maintains efficient patient flow.
• Obtains vitals and documents in EHR.
• Schedules appointments and manages reminders.
• Documents allergies and medications in EHR; updates medication list.
• Supports PMS with referrals and orders.
• Provides scribing support as needed.
