Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Medical assistant certification (CMA/RMA) preferred.
• 1+ year of experience as a medical assistant, dermatology experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Friendly and compassionate disposition with strong interpersonal communication.
• Excellent time management and organized patient flow.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Commitment to confidentiality of patient records.
• Able to support other locations when needed.
• Open to working weekends.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history and vital signs.
• Supports patient care by assisting during examinations; preparing specimens; basic lab tests; sterilizing instruments; authorizing refills; calling in prescriptions.
• Enters vital statistics and orders into the Electronic Health Record.
• Updates and files medical records and insurance reports.
• Assists during examinations, as allowable by law.
• Performs general office duties (phones, dictation, insurance forms).
• Schedules follow-up appointments as indicated by the provider.
• Completes daily reporting and recordkeeping entries; returns patient calls by day end.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
