Job summary

PeaceHealth is hiring a Medical Assistant for Dermatology on a part-time basis (0.75 FTE) in Oregon. The role supports physicians with patient care within the MA scope.

Expect responsibilities from patient prep and room setup to injections and simple wound care under supervision. Qualified candidates will have an Accredited Medical Assistant program or MOA path and BLS at hire, with 1 year of office experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification or MOA exam eligibility as allowed in Oregon/Alaska requirements
• Minimum 1 year experience in a medical office
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
• Proficient with computers and office equipment; insurance billing knowledge preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
• Knowledge of asepsis and sterile technique

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and record history and vitals
• Set up exam/treatment rooms and maintain supplies
• Perform injections, splints, dressings under provider orders
• Prepare/maintain equipment and sterilization
• May transport specimens and assist scheduling
• Input data into electronic medical records
• Provide phone screening and triage to clinical staff
• Collaborate with multiple departments for smooth operations
• Perform other duties as assigned
