Job summary

Waccamaw Dermatology is seeking a Medical Assistant Float to support physicians, NPs, and PAs in delivering dermatology care. You will greet patients, collect intake information, perform POC testing, assist with surgeries, and maintain exam rooms and procedure setups.

The role requires flexibility to float between Myrtle Beach and nearby SC locations, with experience in high-volume medical settings and appropriate MA certification. Strong clinical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification from CMA/AAMA/RMA/CCMA or EMT certification preferred.
• Current CPR/First Aid or BLS certificate required.
• Experience scribing in the room for the Provider.
• Ability to read, write and interpret medical terminology.
• Must be fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist during dermatology procedures and surgeries, including setting up and sterilizing instruments and completing documentation.
• Assist the Provider with minor surgeries (skin cancer, cysts, lipomas).
• Perform intramuscular and subcutaneous injections and numbing injections.
• Maintain medical terminology knowledge, especially for dermatology.
• Greet patients, record medical histories, and take vital signs.
• Help room patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures.
• In-room scribing with the medical provider to ensure charting accuracy.
