Job summary

Dermatology Associates of West Michigan is seeking a dependable Clinical Assistant to support providers in a fast-paced dermatology clinic. You will room patients, document histories, and assist with exams, procedures, and patient education.

Ideal candidates have current certifications (MA/Derm Tech or Michigan LPN/RN) and BLS, with strong EMR documentation and teamwork. On-site position with full- or part-time opportunities in Grand Rapids, MI.

Qualifications

Current certification from Medical Assistant, Certified Dermatology Technician or an active Michigan LPN or RN license.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification at hire or within six months of hire.
Strong communication, both verbal and written, with a professional patient-centered approach.
Accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Ability to prioritize, stay organized, and work as part of a clinical team.
Two years of dermatology experience preferred, strong clinical skills and willingness to learn welcome.

Responsibilities

Room patients and obtain and document accurate medical histories.
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures; communicate with provider and document in EMR.
Assist providers during examinations and procedures; obtain consents; collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
Provide patient education and communicate results and treatment instructions.
Document pathology results and coordinate treatments and follow-up appointments.
Schedule appointments and treatments; respond to calls and messages.
Set up, monitor, and clean clinical equipment; maintain well-stocked rooms.
Participate in training sessions and team meetings.
