Job summary

Lakewood Health System seeks a part-time LPN or Medical Assistant to join the Dermatology team in Staples, MN. You will provide patient care, scribe during visits, and assist with dermatologic procedures including biopsies and MOHS. EPIC EHR experience is preferred, with strong teamwork and patient education.

The position is day-shift, up to 48 hours per pay period (0.6 FTE), with a retention bonus up to $3,000 for new part-time hires.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing or Medical Assistant program.
• Must have and maintain a current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or Medical Assistant certification.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide empathetic, high-quality patient care within our Dermatology clinic setting
• Support dermatology providers by scribing during procedures and patient visits
• Prepare and assist during dermatologic procedures, including biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy and MOHS surgeries
• Manage patient flow, exam room preparation, and supply organization
• Handle in-basket items, patient calls, and medication prior authorizations
• Ensure compliance with CLIA/OSHA standards and maintain surgical instruments
• Assist with specialized dermatology programs, including the iPledge Accutane registry and pathology processes
• Provide thorough patient education and post-care instructions
• Collaborate closely with dermatology providers and the broader specialty care team
