Job summary

The University of Virginia is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join an ambulatory dermatology clinic, providing direct patient care and assisting the provider with common procedures. The role supports a multi-specialty clinic and may assist other areas as needed to ensure efficient patient care and smooth clinic operations.

Responsibilities include data collection, timely nursing care, patient education, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
• Virginia license to practice as an LPN prior to onboarding.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Assist RN and/or provider with data collection on physical, psychological, social, and cultural dimensions.
• Organize and prioritize nursing care activities with the interdisciplinary team.
• Implement age-appropriate interventions as directed by the provider.
• Assist in evaluating care effectiveness toward outcomes.
• Provide ongoing education and reinforcement of care plans.
• Maintain a safe environment and delivery of care.
• Demonstrate teamwork in patient care and contribute to professional development.
• Other duties as assigned.
