Job summary

Frey Consulting Group in Mattoon, Illinois, is seeking a Dermatologist with Mohs Surgery expertise to spearhead and build a brand-new Dermatology & Mohs service line from the ground up. You will have complete clinical autonomy to design, develop, and grow a premier dermatology practice backed by robust health system support.

Serving Mattoon and the surrounding region, you will capture unmet demand for general medical dermatology, skin cancer screenings, surgical excisions, and specialized Mohs

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited US medical school or international equivalent (MD or DO).
• ACGME-accredited Dermatology residency; Board Certified or Board Eligible in Dermatology.
• Fellowship training or proficiency in Mohs Surgery preferred.
• Active, unrestricted Illinois medical license (or eligible).
• Active DEA registration and Illinois CSR.
• Demonstrated clinical leadership ability and vision for building a new service line.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operational setup, workflow design, and rollout of a brand-new Dermatology and Mohs Surgery service line.
• Provide outpatient evaluation, diagnosis, and surgical management for skin cancers and complex dermatologic conditions.
• Perform Mohs micrographic surgeries and related histopathology interpretations.
• Establish clinical protocols, equipment procurement, and clinic layout.
• Build a referral network with regional PCPs, surgeons, oncologists, and AP providers.
• Maintain a patient-centered environment with high quality and safety standards.

An established, physician-led healthcare organization in Central Illinois is seeking a Dermatologist with Mohs Surgery expertise to spearhead and build a brand-new Dermatology & Mohs service line from the ground up.

This unique opportunity provides complete clinical autonomy to design, develop, and grow a premier dermatology practice backed by robust health system support. Serving Mattoon and the surrounding regional community, you will capture significant unmet patient demand for general medical dermatology, skin cancer screenings, surgical excision, and specialized Mohs micrographic procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the operational setup, clinical workflow design, and strategic rollout of a brand-new, comprehensive Dermatology and Mohs Surgery service line
• Provide expert outpatient evaluation, diagnosis, and surgical management for skin cancers (BCC, SCC, melanoma) and complex medical dermatological conditions
• Perform Mohs micrographic surgeries, histopathologic tissue interpretations, and reconstructive procedures upon establishing operational facility capabilities
• Serve as the founding clinical authority in establishing clinical protocols, purchasing state-of-the-art equipment, and guiding clinic layout design
• Establish a strong referral pipeline by collaborating with regional primary care physicians, general surgeons, oncologists, and advanced practice providers
• Foster a patient-centered care environment while maintaining high clinical quality and safety standards

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited US medical school or international equivalent (MD or DO)
• Successfully completed an ACGME-accredited Dermatology residency; Board Certified or Board Eligible in Dermatology
• Fellowship training or documented proficiency in Mohs Surgery is strongly preferred
• Active, unrestricted Illinois medical license (or eligible for state licensure)
• Active DEA registration and Illinois Controlled Substance License (CSR)
• Demonstrated clinical leadership ability, vision, and enthusiasm for establishing a new service line from the ground up
• $100,000 sign-on bonus that is completely forgiven over four (4) years of service
