Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group is seeking a Distribution Planning Engineer to deepen expertise in DER/DG and lead technical efforts. You will shape DER/DG integration into the utility distribution system, work on meaningful studies, and collaborate across disciplines to advance grid modernization.

The role involves hosting capacity, power flow, voltage analysis, and coordination with teams, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers and influence project delivery across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• ~5+ years in electric utility or distribution planning.
• Experience with distribution modeling and engineering analysis tools (CYME, Synergi, ASPEN, WindMil).

Responsibilities

• Perform DER/DG interconnection and distribution planning studies (hosting capacity, power flow, voltage analysis, protection coordination).
• Evaluate DER impacts (solar, storage, EVs) and identify constraints and mitigation strategies.
• Develop and maintain distribution system models using CYME, Synergi, or similar tools.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support integrated planning efforts.
• Support client-facing project work and study reviews.
• Contribute to quality and consistency of engineering deliverables.
• Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing.
