The Macon-Bibb County Government is seeking a part-time Deputy Sheriff in Corrections to help maintain security and discipline in the jail. This role manages inmate movements and ensures daily needs are met in a safe environment, up to 29 hours per week.
Responsibilities include serving meals, responding to inmate inquiries, monitoring activities, conducting cell inspections, and escorting inmates within the facility.
The part time Deputy Sheriff in Corrections is responsible for assisting in maintaining security and discipline in the jail by managing the actions and movements of inmates and ensuring that their daily needs are met in a safe and secure environment. This position is limited to 29 hours per week. Performs the work of a uniformed Deputy Sheriff as part time within the Corrections Division. This includes but is not limited to:
The part time Deputy Sheriff should possess, at a minimum, a High School Diploma or GED, previous law enforcement experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. The position is not entry level you must meet the minimum and necessary requirements to be considered.
