Clayton County Sheriff's Office in Georgia is seeking a Deputy Sheriff Senior (part time) to provide law enforcement and security for the County. The role involves processing inmates, transporting prisoners, investigations support, and maintaining facilities security.
Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, Georgia POST certification, firearms certification, and a valid Georgia driver’s license. US citizenship is required and some experience in law enforcement is preferred.
The purpose of this classification is to provide law enforcement and security to the County.
The following duties are normal for this position; however, all functions may not be performed in all departments. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

High school diploma or GED, supplemented by vocational/technical training in Basic Law Enforcement; five (5) months previous experience and/or training involving law enforcement work. Must be Georgia POST certified. Must possess and maintain valid Peace Officer and firearms certifications. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license. MUST BE A US CITIZEN.
Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, with greater emphasis on climbing and balancing, but typically also involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling and the lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds); may occasionally involve heavier objects and materials (up to 160 pounds).
