Frederick County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Deputy Sheriff – Lateral to join our sworn team. This position offers a full range of law enforcement services to Frederick County, with opportunities for community engagement, supervision, and independent judgment in assignments.

Eligible certified deputies in the last 3 years may apply; the role includes shift differential, overtime eligibility, comprehensive benefits, and a structured career path within a supportive county government.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21 years.
• U.S.A. citizenship.
• High school graduation or the equivalent.
• Current MPCTC certification by Maryland or comparable out-of-state certification.
• Valid driver's license with ability to obtain Frederick County driving permit.

Responsibilities

• Rotating assignments may include vehicle patrol, investigations, traffic control, prisoner transport, court security and training of junior officers.
• Provide full range of law enforcement services to Frederick County with supervision from the chain of command and independent discretion.
