Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and be at least 21 years old.
• Must obtain and maintain Peace Officer Standards and Training certification.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license within 30 days of becoming a resident.
• Background investigation, drug screening and polygraph required.
• Must meet physical fitness standards and may undergo a psychological profile test.

Responsibilities

• Enforces local and state laws to protect life and property and maintain order.
• Serves warrants and arrests, conducts investigations, and transports prisoners.
• Provides courtroom security and assists with documentation and court proceedings.
• Processes inmates, fingerprints, photographs and personal belongings upon intake and release.
• Responds to emergencies, monitors communications, and participates in routine patrol duties.
