Job summary

Qualifications

Must have completed secondary education or equivalent and be certified by the Ohio Peace Officers Training Council (OPOTC).
Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and a clean criminal record.
First aid/CPR certification preferred or required.
Incumbent is a sworn and certified Peace Officer.

Responsibilities

Preserve the peace and enforce Ohio laws as a sworn Peace Officer for Delaware County.
Patrol assigned areas and respond to criminal and civil calls.
Apprehend violators and conduct full investigations of misdemeanors, felonies, and traffic offenses.
Prepare criminal case files and reports; testify in court as required.
Provide security for county buildings and court facilities; transport prisoners.
Engage with the community through meetings and crime prevention programs.
