HNTB''s Atlanta Office is seeking a Deputy Project Manager for the successful delivery of Post Let Projects, as part of GDOT Office of Alternative Delivery. This role assists with the management of a team consisting of civil engineers in support of Georgia Department of Transportation projects, ensuring profitable operation. They are responsible for task management related to the project''s technical budget, schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, project communications, and performance.
Primary Focus Will Include:
- Ensure proper administration of the project agreement through the utilization of the project management team.
- Lead tasks for GDOT Alternative project with a focus on heavy civil highway projects in excess of $50 million.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- 8 years relevant experience or 13 years of relevant experience in lieu of education.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
What You''ll Need
Essential Responsibilities:
- Responsible for development of the project scope and fee quotation, and assists in the preparation of technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB''s Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA).
- Coordinate project activities, establish priorities, and manage staff.
- Prepare Summary Inspection Reports of daily activities.
- Monitor contractor progress and compare with the reviewed progress schedule.
- Resolve technical field issues and coordinate with Architects and Engineers for timely responses.
- Oversee project controls, including checking contractor controls and coordinating schedules.
- Review submittals for conformance to plans and specifications.
- Develop strategies with the contractor to create submittal packages that meet schedule requirements.
- Implement the firm''s project delivery plan using HNTB''s Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA).
- Lead the development and execution of the project management plan.
- Supervise and mentor team members to achieve project objectives.
- Identify and resolve non-compliant work.
- Interpret and enforce contract plans and specifications.
- Develop change order requests, estimates, negotiate costs, and write change orders.
- Provide cost and quality control within discipline.
- Assist with business development, build client relationships, and pursue strategic projects.
- Lead proposal development and presentations for strategic and mini-mega projects.
- May be responsible for recruitment, hiring, development, and retention of construction staff.
Typically responsible for projects up to $10M in construction value and plays a key role in pursuing mini-mega projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor''s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or relevant field.
- 8 years relevant experience or 12 years if substituting for educational requirements.
