Job summary

Atlas Connections seeks an experienced Deputy Project Leader to coordinate on-site construction and commissioning for a large-scale data center in Charlotte, NC. You will serve as the primary liaison among the client, construction teams, subcontractors, and OEMs, driving progress and documenting activity in Procore.

You will oversee OFCI equipment, manage multiple vendors, review drawings and procedures, escalate issues, and maintain high-quality records to support milestones and leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electrical engineering, construction management, or related technical field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant construction, engineering, commissioning, or project coordination experience.
• Extensive electrical construction knowledge for technically complex field environments.
• Experience supporting data center or critical-infrastructure projects preferred.
• Experience coordinating OFCI equipment on large-scale projects.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and manufacturer installation procedures.
• Strong vendor management and cross-functional coordination.
• Experience using Procore or similar construction documentation platform.

• Oversee and drive progress across busway inspection and PDC verification workstreams.
• Conduct daily site walks to assess progress, identify blockers, document deficiencies, and escalate critical issues.
• Coordinate activities involving multiple OEM vendors, including major electrical and critical-power equipment manufacturers.
• Review electrical drawings, equipment specifications, and manufacturer procedures to support installation and commissioning activities.
• Manage competing vendor priorities and maintain productive working relationships among project stakeholders.
• Hold subcontractor teams accountable for schedule, quality, documentation, and completion commitments.
• Escalate performance concerns and unresolved technical or scheduling issues to project leadership.
• Maintain high-quality construction records and ensure entries meet client requirements in Procore or similar platforms.
• Prepare daily and weekly reports covering progress, outstanding issues, schedule risks, and required leadership actions.
• Support project milestones by proactively coordinating issue resolution and follow-through.

This individual will serve as the primary point of coordination among the end client, construction teams, subcontractors, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The role is responsible for maintaining project momentum, resolving field issues, managing documentation quality, and providing clear progress reporting to project leadership.

• Strong understanding of electrical distribution equipment, busway systems, and PDC verification activities.
• Experience managing OEM vendors, subcontractors, and cross-functional project stakeholders.
• Proven ability to identify project risks, resolve field issues, and **escalate** concerns appropriately.
• Experience using Procore or a comparable construction documentation platform.
• Strong written, verbal, organizational, and leadership communication skills.
• Deep technical knowledge and sound field judgment are essential for success in this position.
