Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Deputy Program Manager in Huntsville, AL to lead a multi-billion-dollar defense program with a diverse, geographically dispersed team. You’ll translate evolving requirements into executable plans while driving risk mitigation and executive-level decisions.

This role requires active security clearance and a strong track record in complex programs. You will collaborate with senior leaders across government and industry, ensuring program performance and customer satisfaction

Qualifications

• BA/BS or higher with 12+ years of relevant experience (or Master’s with 10+ years). 7+ years leading teams.
• Significant leadership on large defense, aerospace, intelligence, or government programs.
• Ability to lead in fast-paced environments with changing priorities and incomplete information.
• Experience engaging senior government, military, and corporate leaders.
• Must be a US Citizen, have an active DoD clearance and ability to obtain Top-Secret clearance.
• Resident of Huntsville, AL or willing to relocate to the Huntsville area.

Leidos' Defense Sensors Persistence Surveillance Portfolio is seeking a Deputy Program Manager to help lead a multi-billion-dollar, full-lifecycle defense program operating across multiple CONUS and OCONOS locations.

This is a highly dynamic program with evolving requirements, significant customer visibility, and complex technical, operational, financial, and organizational challenges. The Deputy Program Manager will serve as a trusted extension of the Program Manager, helping drive execution, align teams, resolve issues, and make timely decisions consistent with the Program Manager's intent and the program's strategic direction.

Primary Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent experience and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10+ years or prior relevant experience. 7+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.

• Significant leadership experience on large, complex defense, aerospace, intelligence, or government programs.

• Demonstrated ability to lead in fast-paced environments with changing priorities and incomplete information.

• Strong executive presence, judgment, communication skills, and learning agility.

• Experience leading cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.

• Ability to quickly understand the program, anticipate priorities, and make decisions aligned with the Program Manager's direction.

• Experience engaging senior government, military, and corporate leaders.

• Must be a US Citizen, possess and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top-Secret clearance.

• Must be a resident of Huntsville, AL or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Program Manager, Deputy Program Manager, Operations Director, Chief of Staff, or senior functional leader.

• Experience supporting large defense programs.

• Familiarity with full-lifecycle defense program execution, including development, deployment, sustainment, and modernization.

Experience supporting classified, international, or OCONUSS operations

Pay Range

Pay Range: Pay Range $154,050.00 - $278,475.00
