Job summary

Foundation List in Washington, DC seeks an experienced program administrator to provide leadership for Head Start and related grants. You will guide teachers and home visiting teams to meet school readiness goals and ensure program quality.

Responsibilities

• Assists with program planning and provides guidance and leadership to program administrator, teachers and home visiting team.
• Supervises and ensures programmatic accountability for Head Start, OSSE and PKEEP grants, accreditation, and licensing standards.
• Aligns School Readiness Goals with local requirements and Home-Based curriculum with DC Early Learning Standards.
• Evaluates performance of program staff and handles personnel actions.
• Collaborates with Building Engineer and Health Manager to ensure emergency safety practices are followed.
• Participates in staff trainings, meetings, and Board/parent meetings as requested.
• Supports all programmatic and operational goals of the Center.

Job description

• Assists with all program planning; helps provide guidance, vision, oversight and leadership to program administrator, teachers and home visiting team, emphasizing the importance of achieving high standards of quality, including achieving school readiness goals for children and families.
• Helps with supervision and programmatic accountability for Head Start, OSSE and PKEEP (Pre-K Enhancement and Expansion Program) grants, accreditation, and licensing standards.
• Works with Program team to prepare all HS Service Area Plans, policies and procedures. Takes lead in drafting HS Management Systems plans, policies and procedures.
• Assures alignment of School Readiness Goals with local requirements and alignment of Home-Based curriculum with DC Early Learning Standards.
• Works with Program Director, evaluating performance of all program staff, and personnel actions.
• Works with Building Engineer and Health Manager to ensure emergency safety practices are carried out.
• Attends staff training and meetings, as well as Board and parent meetings as requested.
• Supports all programmatic and operational goals of the Center.

Position Requirements:

BA in Education or Early Childhood Development (or related field). Advanced degree in Early Childhood Education/Social Work preferred. Bilingual, excellent written and verbal English and Spanish language skills essential. At least 2 years management experience in a supervisory role. Expertise in early intervention services and family-centered programs. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), Teaching Strategies Gold, Child Plus or similar enrollment management software.
