This senior editor will oversee three news teams and editors, mentor reporters, coordinate with digital, planning, features and investigative desks, and help drive rapid-response and enterprise reporting across South Carolina’s outlets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Journalism, Communications or English.
• At least 5 years of experience as an editor.
• Experience as a leader in digital news operations.
• Experience with developing and implementing content and audience strategies.
• Flexibility to adjust hours to monitor breaking news.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts for metro news, business and public safety coverage.
• Oversee three news teams and editors, along with enterprise reporters.
• Coach reporters to develop stronger voices and editing.
• Collaborate with editors to craft coverage strategies and drive audience-first initiatives.
• Jump in on assignments when needed.
