About The Role

As part of our legal team at this forward-thinking digital asset firm serving over 700 clients, you will navigate global regulations critical to our operations. In the role of Deputy General Counsel: Markets & Product, you will advise our global Markets team and help develop our product offerings. Your regulatory expertise will be key in managing digital asset prime brokerage complexities, with opportunities for significant collaboration with senior leadership in a dynamic industry.

Responsibilities

1. Partner with cross-functional teams to develop new financial products and ensure compliance with evolving regulations.
2. Manage lawyers responsible for derivatives products worldwide and serve as the senior legal expert on derivatives.
3. Advise the global Markets team on regulatory and commercial issues impacting trading units.
4. Evaluate and mitigate risks throughout product lifecycle, develop policies to reduce legal exposure, and collaborate with compliance officers.

Minimum Requirements

1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to a State Bar and good standing.
3. 10+ years in legal advisory roles.
4. 7+ years advising on institutional financial products.
5. 7+ years negotiating complex legal transactions.
6. Experience in Financial Services or an Institutional FinTech company/product.

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of Capital Markets, Derivatives, Equities, Credit Lending, and Prime Brokerages.
• Experience with the Dodd-Frank Act and working with regulators like CFTC and SEC.
• Legal advice for institutional trading businesses and expertise in digital assets.
• Proven ability to develop or refine financial product offerings and collaborate across teams.
• Experience managing legal teams and contractual documentation.

Additional Information

The base pay ranges from $276,000 to $374,000, with additional compensation such as bonuses, equity, and benefits, based on location, skills, and experience.
